How to change the URL of the pages created by Blogger

So you are searching this means you are tired of getting the random URL that is being generated by the Blogger when you create a Static Page by Blogger.

The Problem:

When you create a custom page through the Pages Section in Blogger, then if you paste your content from some text editor (if you are into offline writing and posting the article to the page in one go) you will see that at the time of publishing the URL of the page is generated on random. Or even if you start typing in blogger as well you will get a random URL at the time of publishing the page.

The Solution:

Actually, there is no direct solution for this problem as there is no feature (GUI interface) provided to do this.

So what can you do?

After creating many pages I have found a pattern. Using that pattern we will try to get the desired page URL. I am not saying this will work every time and in every case. But if follow my steps without any error you should get the desired URL.

Caution:

Don't make any mistake in the first chance. If you miss the first chance then from chances are that even if do follow the steps for the second time you will not get the desired URL you will get an URL that has some random number appended to your URL. like my-url-71 or my-url-82 or something.

Steps to get the URL you desire:

  1. Go to Blogger (Isn't it obvious!).
  2. Go to Pages.
  3. Click on "New Page".
  4. Open notepad or any notepad equivalent application.
  5. Write down the title by following the Patterns mentioned below in the notepad.
  6. Copy the title you wrote in the notepad and paste it in the"Page Title" box in the Blogger new page creation page.
  7. Click on Publish.
  8. Then view the page by clicking on the view link which is visible upon hovering the page title.
  9. Verify the link of the page on the newly opened tab which is showing your newly created page.
  10. If you like the URL go ahead and Edit the page title and content as you desire.
Patterns:
  1. If you want a page URL like "parta-partb" then please write this in the notepad "parta partb"
  2. now if you do some mistake in the firs chance then there is a huge possibility that this won't work you will get an URL line "parta-partb-81" or something like that a random number appended to your desired URL.
  3. Now if the no 2 already happened with you and you want your desired URL very badly then you can do one thing you can create the title like "parta_partb" this should create a URL like "partapartb". This is actually not as bad as it looks for this para and partb words. Think of a scenario where you want an URL like "about-me" but in the first chance you messed it up and now it looks like you won't ever get the desired URL, you can settle for a URL like "aboutme", right?
